Shallow Breath, 2005
Shallow Breath is an attempt to produce something quiet, non-ubiquitous
in a material sense, although making use of elements capable of binding space to them. (These attributes could easily be ascribed also to the village of Topolo -Topolove.)
The basic construction of the statue is modelled out of a thin metal hexangular mesh, covered by a fine layer of polyester, making it reminiscent of a bee honeycomb in an appropriate light. The metal part, which is extended from the proportions, tries to find its way through space like an antenna. The statue appears somewhat hesitant, in a timid contact with nature, better linked to light than to the ground. Although the basic intention is completely abstract, at the level of form I tried to retain a direct, somewhat provocative relation between the statue and the visitors of this public place. As though the statue keeps sliding, but does not slide over, it keeps swaying, but does not fall, it is static, but in the wrong environment… Therefore it will be up to the visitors to decide whether the Shallow Breath is a case of an uninvited guest, or will they be the ones offering it a hand, so its breathing with the village continues to grow stronger from day to day.

Shallow Breath je poskus nečesa tihega, v materialnem smislu ne preveč prisotnega, vendar z elementi, ki so sposobni nase vezati prostor. (S temi atributi bi prav lahko opisali tudi vas Topolovo.)
Osnova kipa je modelirana iz tanke kovinske šesterokotne mreže, v tenki plasti prevlečene s poliestrom, kar ob primerni svetlobi spominja na čebelno satje. Iz proporcev podaljšan kovinski del se skuša kot tipalka orientirati v prostoru. Kip deluje nekoliko negotovo, v plašnem kontaktu z naravo, bolj vezan na svetlobo kot na podlago. Čeprav je osnovna intenca povsem abstraktna, pa se poskuša na nivoju forme vseeno ohraniti neposreden, nekoliko provokativen stik z obiskovalci tega javnega prostora. Kip kot da drsi, vendar ne zdrsne, se nagiba, vendar ne pade, je statičen, vendar v napacnem okolju...Zato bodo šele obiskovalci lahko presodili, ali gre v primeru Shallow Breath za nepovabljenega gosta, ali pa mu bodo priskocili na pomoč, da bo skupaj z vasjo dihal iz dneva v dan močneje.
